Civil Engineering

JVA’s civil department provides engineering for a variety of services including site development, commercial and institutional sites, residential, parks, trails, and sports fields. Our civil team also provides utility infrastructure, drainage control, roadway and parking area design services. JVA serves many public and private clients across Colorado, and serves as the on-call civil engineer for several municipalities and districts. 

Our civil engineering team also provides site design services. Our site design work includes detailed site grading, floodplain analysis, and more. This includes a large portfolio of school facilities, both Pre-K-12 and Higher Education campuses, as well as municipal buildings such as Public Works buildings/Town Shops, and Fire/Police stations.

JVA’s stormwater and drainage experience includes storm sewers, channel improvements, and floodplain analysis. We design water quality ponds to maximize flood protection, sediment and pollutant control, and detention capacity for large areas. JVA knows the importance of proper erosion and drainage control to prepare or rehabilitate sites effectively. 

JVA provides road and parking services for clients including lane widening, parking services, and creative main street/ streetscape improvements. Our engineers design parking lots, striping plans, and roundabouts with emphasis on safety and best practices.

JVA’s civil team also provides infrastructure services, which encompass master infrastructure planning, bridges, streetscape, water transmission and distribution, and sanitary sewer main and pipe rehab.
