JVA, Inc. Announces 2023 Corporate Promotions

JVA, Inc. is pleased to announce the following promotions of leaders to the corporate management team.

Michael Katalinich has been promoted to Principal. Michael is the Regional Engineering Manager for JVA’s environmental engineering team in Boulder. He has been with JVA since 2014 and focuses on water treatment and distribution and wastewater collection and treatment projects throughout Colorado. With over 20 years of experience in the industry, Michael will continue supporting projects throughout Colorado while also actively representing the environmental department on JVA’s Corporate Management Team. As Principal, Michael will give additional focus to the firm’s project management teams and processes, review of technical capabilities and deliverables, promoting innovative approaches to treatment, and advocating for the firm’s projects in the scientific community.

Ken Clifford has been promoted to Senior Associate. Ken is a Civil Engineering Senior Project Manager in JVA’s Boulder office. He has been with JVA since 2013 and has over 22 years of engineering industry experience. Ken serves as a Project Manager and Engineer of Record for a variety of K-12 and higher education facilities, healthcare, parks, municipal services, and private and commercial land development projects across the front range. As a corporate leader, Ken will continue to focus on enhancing JVA’s billing procedures, design standards, and ensuring JVA’s culture is one that focuses on improving our Colorado communities through engineering excellence.

Mandy Rasmussen has been promoted to Senior Associate. Mandy is an Environmental Engineering Senior Project Manager and the Fort Collins Regional Office Manager. She has been with JVA since 2012 and part of JVA’s Corporate Management Team since 2018. Mandy has over 15 years of water and wastewater experience with specialties in utility network services, hydraulic modeling, master planning, capital improvement plans, asset management, and design and construction administration of distribution system and collection system rehabilitation and replacement projects. Mandy excels in supporting municipalities and districts on an on-call basis acting as an extension of utility staff. Within JVA, Mandy contributes to planning and strategies for recruitment, onboarding, and retention, and is a proud member of JVA’s Women’s+ Impact Network Employee Resource Group.

Christine Britton has been promoted to Associate. Christine is a Structural Engineering Project Manager in JVA’s Boulder office. She started at JVA as an intern in 2012 and was hired full-time after earning her Master’s in Historic Preservation from the University of Pennsylvania in 2013. Christine is part of JVA’s Historic Preservation Studio, working on preservation projects in Colorado and across the country. She is the current President of the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the Association for Preservation Technology and an instructor for the National Park Service’s BEST Preservation Workshop Series. Christine will represent the Structural Department on JVA’s Corporate Management Team.

Paul StoffelPaul Stoffel has been promoted to Associate. Paul is a Structural Engineering Senior Project Manager and Fort Collins Structural Regional Engineering Manager. He has been with JVA since 2016 and has over 17 years of structural engineering experience, specializing in high-end custom residential and commercial projects. He oversees and manages multiple structural projects, supervises engineering staff, coordinates with architects and contractors, and assists with client and business development for the firm. Paul will represent the Structural Department on JVA’s Corporate Management Team, while continuing to promote JVA’s open door policy, inclusive culture, and the highest quality structural engineering.

Lillian Tolve has been promoted to Associate. Lillian is an Environmental Engineering Project Manager in JVA’s Denver office and has been with the firm since 2012. She focuses on water treatment and distribution, groundwater dewatering treatment, and wastewater treatment and collection projects throughout Colorado. Lillian is an expert in navigating state and federal funding opportunities available to disadvantaged municipal clients. By using different combinations of grants and loans, she has helped JVA become well-known in the industry for creative ways to fund projects. She also helps develop specification, report, and calculation templates for the department. Lillian will represent the Environmental Department on JVA’s Corporate Management Team.
