Cooper Karsh, Civil Project Manager
Cooper Karsh is a Civil Project Manager in our Winter Park office. He’s been at JVA for eight years and has 13 years in the industry. Although Cooper’s original plan was to study computer science, he switched into civil engineering on the first day of college because of the wide range of opportunities civil engineering provides.
Cooper believes all his projects have been great opportunities to take on new challenges, collaborate with others, and create unique design elements. All of which give him a great sense of pride in his work that keep the job interesting and fun.
“The people at JVA are some of the best I’ve had the pleasure to know, both in and out of the professional world. Encouraging camaraderie across disciplines and providing opportunities to get to know others in this diverse company has been a great experience,” says Cooper. He’s inspired by other people with a deep passion for their work or hobbies.
Cooper’s hobbies include hiking, camping, and snowboarding. He also plays sports. Living in the Winter Park area has its perks. He loves the small community and easy access to public lands. “It seems like half of the community plays softball in the summer and hockey in the winter,” says Cooper. “Both are great.” Even though Cooper was never around motorsports growing up, he now owns a motorcycle and timbersled, which has been a blast to get into this last year. Cooper’s favorite local lunch spot in Winter Park is Fontenot’s – which has a solid selection of Po’ Boys on their lunch menu.
Jeffrey Beauregard, Structural Design Engineer II
Jeffrey Beauregard is a Structural Design Engineer II in our Winter Park office and has been at JVA for three years. He decided to become an engineer because he’s always loved the process of building things and looking at interesting buildings. Jeffrey was introduced to the industry early in high school and once he learned about it, he knew that’s what he wanted to pursue in college.
The project Jeffrey is most proud of at JVA is the Town of Winter Park Public Works Facility. Aside from the ski resort, it’s one of the first things you see when you drive into Winter Park. “It’s cool to see the completed project every time I go skiing,” said Jeffrey. He also said it was a great design and construction administration learning experience.
Outside of work, Jeffrey enjoys anything outdoors. In the winter it’s snowboarding and backcountry snowboarding. In the summer he likes to bike, fish, backpack, hike, camp, and paddle board. Jeffrey’s favorite local lunch spot in Winter Park is Rudi’s Deli. His favorite thing about working in Winter Park is having the small office and small town feel but also having the ski resort and mountains so close to work and home.
Jeffrey’s favorite thing about JVA is the people and the culture. Everyone is always willing to help out and are great to be around. He also can’t complain about JVA’s company-wide events staff can participate in!
