What We Do

JVA, Incorporated (JVA) is a Colorado structural, civil, and environmental consulting engineering firm. Since 1956, JVA has provided engineering services to architects, owners, municipalities, and special districts for building, site development, and water/wastewater projects throughout the Rocky Mountain area and nationwide. The firm’s team consists of over 140 engineers, designers, and administrative professionals. JVA staff hold professional registrations in most U.S. states and many are members of industry associations and professional organizations.

With a dedication to meticulous design, effective communication, creative solutions, teamwork, and on-time delivery, JVA aims to improve communities through engineering excellence. The team believes in sustainability and understands the importance of resource and energy stewardship, including LEED Accredited Professionals, Certified Floodplain Managers, and historic preservation experts. 

As a proud legacy firm, JVA focuses on supporting the community. They are prominent sponsors of over 30 nonprofits and organizations. JVA also has a strong internal corporate culture with sponsored events and social activities throughout the year.

The JVA LGBTQ+ group serves to recognize Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Non-Binary communities and allies. This group contributes towards our common vision for a workplace where identity, expression, and families in all forms are respected and celebrated.

Safety dialogue. Establish an environment where employees can openly discuss physical and psychological safety.

Curate resources. Share articles and host workshops for all staff to identify personal growth opportunities.

Advise leadership. Provide data and personal experience to contribute to and inform company decisions.

Elevate visibility. Acknowledge women’s experiences and showcase their leadership and contributions.

Represent employees. Provide a conduit for communication and feedback between employees and leadership.

Promote improvement. Bring awareness to biases and work with leadership to implement business practices that combat implicit biases.

Deliver education. Host presentations and discussions on topics that contribute to the growth of all employees.

Support philanthropically. Sponsor women’s industry events and have JVA representation in attendance.

Young Professionals

The JVA Young Professionals (YP) Group supports the growth and connection of emerging professionals across all offices. The group fosters collaboration between entry-level and senior staff through shared learning, mentorship, and engagement opportunities.

Build connections. Host various events to strengthen relationships across disciplines and offices.

Develop skills. Host Speakeasy sessions to practice public speaking and confidence-building.

Inspire learning. Coordinate TED Talk discussions and maintain a company-wide events calendar.

Promote growth. Offer training on technical and safety topics and organize job site tours.

Support advancement. Share PE & SE prep resources and facilitate the Intern Program.

Encourage mentorship. Lead group discussions and peer support for continued development.

Global Engineering

JVA’s Global Engineering Committee (GEC) was founded to help provide engineering solutions for global communities in need. The GEC’s mission is to empower local and global communities by developing sustainable engineering solutions that promote access to clean water, sanitation, and other basic human rights. To help achieve these goals, the GEC has three subcommittees: college mentorship, domestic efforts, and global efforts.
