JVA, Inc. is pleased to announce the following promotions of leaders in our corporate management team.

Paul Hause, P.E. has been named Denver Regional Office Manager. In his new role, Paul will oversee JVA’s second-largest office at 1675 Larimer Street in Denver. Paul has been with the firm since JVA acquired Structural Consultants Inc. (SCI) in 2020. He is a Principal on the Structural team and has over 30 years of experience in the industry. Paul has a broad range of project experience across Colorado and nationwide with various building types, materials, codes, and project team and delivery formats. He was a past President of the Colorado chapter of the Structural Engineers Association of Colorado (SEAC).

Mark Sorenson, P.E. has been promoted to Principal. Mark has over 20 years of experience in structural design and has been with JVA since 2011, serving as a Senior Project Manager and Senior Associate on the Corporate Management team. JVA looks forward to Mark’s continued leadership of the structural team in his new role. Mark has extensive experience on a variety of projects including multi-family construction, single-family custom homes and K-12 education facilities across the State of Colorado and in the Western US.

Simon Farrell, P.E. has been promoted to Senior Associate. Simon has been with JVA’s environmental team since 2013. He specializes in the planning, evaluation, design, construction and operation of wastewater treatment systems throughout the State of Colorado. He is a member of the Colorado Professionals in Onsite Wastewater and served as past President.

Richard Hood, P.E. has been promoted to Associate. Richard has been with JVA’s Environmental team since 2014 and is a Project Manager working in the Denver office. Richard has a diverse background in planning, design, permitting, and construction of water treatment plants throughout Colorado. In his new role, Richard will help lead JVA’s environmental department as part of the Corporate Management Team.

Ben Gallaher, P.E. has been promoted to Associate. Ben is a Project Manager in JVA’s Boulder office and has been with JVA since 2013. He has more than 12 years of experience on a wide variety of education, multifamily, and commercial projects across Colorado. Ben will help lead the structural department as a member of the Corporate Management team.

Cristy Helmick, P.E. has been promoted to Associate. Cristy has been with JVA’s structural team since 2020 and co-leads the structural engineering team in the Fort Collins office. She has over 17 years of structural engineering experience specializing in the design of commercial, industrial, healthcare, and educational facilities. She is responsible for planning, scheduling, and managing diverse structural engineering projects while maintaining client relationships and taking an active role in business development. She is a member of the Structural Engineers Association of Colorado (SEAC) and is a graduate of the University of Wyoming.
